IBLF, through its extensive access to senior business executives across the world, mobilises business in both action and leadership in responsible business practices and international development.
Many business leaders want their company to take a greater role in development issues, but are unsure how to achieve this in the most productive way possible. IBLF identifies critical emerging issues and persuades leaders to inspire and drive change throughout their organisations and networks.
We work with individual sectors - such as through our International Tourism Partnership programme, which works with 16 of the world's leading travel and tourism companies; we contribute to specific leadership initiatives, such as the Clinton Global Initiative; and we work with leaders in non-government organisation and the United Nations to help them develop better relationships with the business community.
Leadership Visits
Crossing Borders is a new business leadership programme launched by IBLF in September 2005 that involves visits led by senior business leaders to business-supported projects in developing countries. The programme is supported by USAID’s Global Development Alliance.
Clinton Global Initiative
In 2006 IBLF worked alongside The Conference Board and Harvard University to produce a series of reports for the Clinton Global Initiative on how business can contribute to international development.
United Nations
IBLF works with the United Nations on a variety of fundamental issues, from sustainable development, disaster relief, human rights, governance, economic and social development and international health, in order to achieve its goals and coordinate efforts for a safer world for this and future generations.
Business Call to Action
The Business Call to Action challenges companies to explore new business opportunities that use their core business expertise. Whether through manufacturing, finance, telecommunications etc, businesses can contribute to both achieving the MDGs and improving commercial success.
