New Life Scenarios for Russian Youth
IBLF has been awarded a grant from the EU Tacis Institution Building Partnership Programme to transfer and adapt its successful
business-supported Autokreacja Camp model from Poland to Russia, in order to address issues of youth employability and entrepreneurship.
The aim of the project is to build up the capacity of youth NGOs in St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast to deliver a set of
services for young people (16-25 years old) in order to improve their employability skills and set up a number of career consulting
centres based on the adaptation of international experience.
IBLF is working alongside the NGO Development Centre (St Petersburg) and youth policy committees of the governments of St
Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast.
The progress so far
In August 2005, the first group of Russians took part in a Camp at the Open University in Legnica, Southern Poland, with
training conducted by a range of IBLF associates and members of the IBLF network.
The first training programme took place in St Petersburg in March 2006, where the trainers presented IBLF's international
experience which they had studied during Polish and UK visits earlier in the year. The participants came from Vyborg, Tosno,
Slantsy, Volhov, Gatchina and St Petersburg and intend to develop or enhance their capacity and helping young people shape
their future.
